<title><![CDATA[Senior Mechanical Engineer - (Toronto, ON)]]></title>

Our integrated approach to engineering and design brings together the best professionals to meet our clients’ needs.<br/><br/>We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with significant healthcare experience to work on high profile projects primarily designed out of our Los Angeles office. The hired candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers primarily to do the following:<br/><br/>You will be part of the management team and as such responsible for financial performance, client relations and team motivation and development. The position will report to the mechanical group core discipline leaders and into the Buildings Practice.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Lead effort to deliver HVAC design for hospital, MOB, and laboratory work in the healthcare industry<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Procure healthcare work in conjunction with the senior management of the group.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Build design group skills in the provision of sustainable designs based on most recent scientific evidence in the field related to environments that support improved health and patient outcomes.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Oversee a team of junior engineers in design delivery.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Be primary contact for discipline with architects.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Provide general multidisciplinary coordination oversight including 3D delivery for healthcare projects<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Build, renew, and maintain relationships with healthcare owners for the purposes of obtaining repeat business.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Be recognized in the field as an expert in all aspects of regulatory compliance related to design for disease control.<br/><br/>Requirements:<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>At least 12 years of experience in the HVAC industry with at least 500,000sf of hospital design experience in the past 6 years, with evidence of involvement in concept design through construction administration and commissioning of systems.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Have project management, multidisciplinary coordination and supervisorial experience.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Business development capabilities, commercial/financial awareness.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>PE required.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Experience with OSHPD required.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Evidence of public recognition of expertise preferred (articles, conference papers, ASHRAE committee membership, speaking engagements, etc)<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>LEED AP+ preferred.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional certification (HFDP) preferred.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Cogeneration experience preferred<br/><br/>Qualities:<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Good communication and leadership skills essential for team based working.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Must be outgoing in terms of building and maintaining client relationships.<br/><br/>Submission Requirements:<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Please provide a resume describing work experience.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Please provide a project list identifying owner, client, size of project, cost of project, your responsibility/role and the number of people in each discipline for which you had oversight.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Please provide evidence of your industry engagement with regards to sharing and developing publically disseminated knowledge about appropriate design for HVAC for healthcare related projects<br/><br/>Share your passion and experience in a global culture that believes your potential to achieve is endless. <title><![CDATA[Mechanical CAD Technician - (Toronto, ON)]]></title>

Our integrated approach to engineering and design brings together the best professionals to meet our clients’ needs.<br/><br/>The Toronto office seeks a Mechanical CAD Technician to enhance our M/P/FP capacity for both Infrastructure and Buildings projects. The potential candidate should have a minimum of 3 years experience in the production of HVAC, fire protection and plumbing 2d and 3d drawings with a solid knowledge of AutoCAD (required), AutoCAD MEP (required), Revit MEP (required) and Navisworks (preferred).<br/><br/>Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Work from engineer's markups under minimum supervision in the production of mechanical construction documents, including drafting of schematics, plans, sections and details for HVAC, fire protection and plumbing projects using Microstation and AutoCAD, including routing services to avoid clashes with structure, other services, etc.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Plotting, collate and review drawings for accuracy and compliance with relevant CAD standard before issues.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Support HVAC, fire protection and plumbing BIM production in producing building services systems layouts and riser diagrams.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Assist in implementing office BIM/CAD standards<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Ability to serve as a resource to project team members in the use of various BIM software.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Coordinate with internal and external design teams in the completion BIM projects.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Consulting experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry is strongly desired.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Sound knowledge of the various building systems and how they relate to each other for the purpose of 3D model coordination is strongly desired.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Utilization of Navisworks platform for 3D clash detection is an asset.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Site visits as required.<br/><br/>Requirements:<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>AutoCAD MEP (3D) required<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Revit is required<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Minimum of 3 years experience<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Work effectively in a team environment, and a strong commitment to succeed.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Excellent communication skills.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.<br/><br/>Share your passion and experience in a global culture that believes your potential to achieve is endless.
