Senior Mechanical Engineer Healthcare

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with significant healthcare experience to work on high profile projects primarily designed out of our Los Angeles office. The hired candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers primarily to do the following:
You will be part of the management team and as such responsible for financial performance, client relations and team motivation and development. The position will report to the mechanical group core discipline leaders and into the Buildings Practice.
•Lead effort to deliver HVAC design for hospital, MOB, and laboratory work in the healthcare industry
•Procure healthcare work in conjunction with the senior management of the group.
•Build design group skills in the provision of sustainable designs based on most recent scientific evidence in the field related to environments that support improved health and patient outcomes.
•Oversee a team of junior engineers in design delivery.
•Be primary contact for discipline with architects.
•Provide general multidisciplinary coordination oversight including 3D delivery for healthcare projects
•Build, renew, and maintain relationships with healthcare owners for the purposes of obtaining repeat business.
•Be recognized in the field as an expert in all aspects of regulatory compliance related to design for disease control.
Requirements:
•Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
•At least 12 years of experience in the HVAC industry with at least 500,000sf of hospital design experience in the past 6 years, with evidence of involvement in concept design through construction administration and commissioning of systems.
•Have project management, multidisciplinary coordination and supervisorial experience.
•Business development capabilities, commercial/financial awareness.
•PE required.
•Experience with OSHPD required.
•Evidence of public recognition of expertise preferred (articles, conference papers, ASHRAE committee membership, speaking engagements, etc)
•LEED AP+ preferred.
•ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional certification (HFDP) preferred.
•Cogeneration experience preferred

•Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
•Must be outgoing in terms of building and maintaining client relationships.
