We are working on exciting projects which include the Second Avenue Subway, Fulton Street Transit Center, high rise towers along with several design-build highway and bridge projects.<br/><br/>The successful candidate will have experience in leading geotechnical design teams for major projects in the greater New York City region, the US and internationally as well as a track record of growing a team through business development and strategic hiring.<br/><br/>Responsibilities include the following:<br/><br/>• Working closely with Office, Regional and Global Businesses to enhance and implement business plans that expand Arup’s market<br/><br/>• Working closely with our other North American offices, and geotechnical teams, and liaising with our overseas offices on international projects.<br/><br/>• Maintaining Arup’s high standards for technical excellence, client care, and the appropriate quality of our deliverables<br/><br/>• Staff resourcing and financial performance of projects managed within the Geotechnical Group and the geotechnical portion of projects for other Arup businesses<br/><br/>• Interfacing with internal and external clients and stakeholders<br/><br/>• Inspiring, motivating and training of team members<br/><br/>• Recruiting geotechnical staff at all levels in response to the business needs<br/><br/>• Develop business opportunities both for projects lead by the Geotechnical Group and for projects lead by other Arup businesses and practices<br/><br/>Requirements:<br/><br/>• Bachelors/Masters Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering<br/><br/>• NY and NJ PE<br/><br/>• Extensive design experience in the areas of geotechnical design for infrastructure and buildings.<br/><br/>• Experience of managing site investigations and laboratory testing.<br/><br/>• Ability to communicate and coordinate work within an integrated multidisciplinary team.<br/><br/>• Understanding of relevant construction techniques available both locally and internationally<br/><br/>• Working knowledge of numerical analysis tools<br/><br/>• Working knowledge of seismic analysis and codes<br/><br/>• High level of self-motivation and of the ability to motivate others<br/><br/>• Comfortable taking the initiative and make decisions<br/><br/>• Superb communication skills with internal and external clients<br/><br/>• Sound understanding of commercial and financial issues<br/><br/>This role will require travelling within North America and overseas, typically for short periods, to support the delivery of our work.<br/><br/>Share your passion and experience in a global culture that believes your potential to achieve is endless. <title><![CDATA[Senior CAD Manager - (New York, New York)]]></title>

Our integrated approach to engineering and design brings together the best professionals to meet our clients’ needs.<br/><br/>We are currently seeking an experienced Senior CAD Manager to coordinate our CAD efforts for infrastructure projects in New York. The hired candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and assist with various aspects including but not limited to:<br/><br/>Supervising the development of standard drawing details for each discipline.<br/><br/>Monitoring and evaluating and supervising the performance of drafters in the office.<br/><br/>Using Microstation and or Revit software to produce 2D and 3D drawings and documentation according to standards for infrastructure projects.<br/><br/>Coordinate work directly with engineers.<br/><br/>Work under minimal supervision.<br/><br/>Take responsibility for definable parts of a project.<br/><br/>Take responsibility for own work produced to a high standard.<br/><br/>Have good visual, 3D and design aesthetic skills.<br/><br/>Requirements:<br/><br/>Qualified professionals will have a minimum 6 - 10 years of experience with prior work done on infrastructure projects.<br/><br/>Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline advantageous.<br/><br/>Experienced and proficient with use of MicroStation and Revit.<br/><br/>Ability to set up and administer Project wise or similar collaboration tools a plus.<br/><br/>Will be required to set up, administer and champion various Arup CAD programs.<br/><br/>Must possess sound knowledge of engineering principals, and the relationship between the various Infrastructure and Building Engineering disciplines.<br/><br/>Must possess the ability to work well in a team environment.<br/><br/>Strong communication and planning skills are a must; including use of Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point).<br/><br/>Prior supervisory experience desirable.<br/><br/>Must demonstrate ability to see project through to completion.<br/><br/>Share your passion and experience in a global culture that believes your potential to achieve is endless.
