Responsible for the overall checking or approval of detailed rail systems designs and calculations within all implementation projects, renewals, or track amendments resultant from other railway asset renewals.

Technically leading a project and coordinating rail design input from remote working with Arup offices and/or sub-consultants to meet the requirements of a variety of large to small rail projects.

Responsible for the improvement of rail systems design production and quality, and the staff development and competency within the Arup Americas rail project teams. Identify training needs and implement courses.

Also responsible for the project management of multidisciplinary design teams from concept design through to feasibility design, and to detailed design, commissioning and project close out as well as single discipline projects.

Work content includes approving or checking: preliminary and detailed electrical layouts; technical studies and reports; generation and evaluation of technical design options; design calculations and analysis; specialized report writing and interfacing with other disciplines.

Work will also include concept design, feasibility design and operations.

Will oversee design office cover for Commissioning activities as required.

Responsible for own tasks and tasks of team to agreed timescales.
