We are currently seeking a Senior Cost Engineer / Quantity Surveyor in our New York office to service our East Coast infrastructure projects. Experience in major bridge, highways, civil engineering and/or tunnel projects is essential.

Your responsibilities will involve:

Complete responsibility for fostering creation of and reporting of cost estimate deliverables to internal and or external Clients.

Communicating with external vendors extensively to satisfy all cost estimating needs.

Compliance to Arup standard estimate formats for data collection and digestion into Arup systems.

Addressing, counseling and advising on best approaches, level of detail, Work Breakdown Structure, database application, etc of particular deliverables.

Suggesting formats for deliverables that most effectively satisfy the output required by the internal or external client.

Checking and assurance of all estimates within the Arup Quality management System.

Leading and developing a small in-house cost estimating team

Qualified professionals will have:

A Construction Management or related engineering degree

15-20 years of experience held in a variety of project types and geography

Experience in major infrastructure projects

Mastery of estimating systems

Capability of producing any order of magnitude estimate from, magnitude through detail.

Deep understanding of cost based risk analysis

Ability to mentor and supervise all lower level Staff.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Demonstrated Public speaking and group presentation abilities

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required by projects.

Knowledge of scheduling tools and technologies
