As a Security Intern, you will learn and apply the following:

• Prepare drawings and incorporate drawing markups detailing electronic security systems (ACAMS, CCTV, IDS, Operations Centers, etc.) designs as instructed

• Develop standard drawings details.

• Aid in the review of cut-sheets and RFIs

• Help create specifications documents

• Work on the assessment, survey and review of electronic security systems and resilience, risk and security protection programs

• Aid in the preparation of reports as requested

• Work on defined tasks under limited supervision.

• Perform physical protection security system design calculations.

• Research, evaluate and select or make recommendations in the selection of electronic security, surveillance and communications equipment for use in physical protection systems.

• Coordinate work and physical security protection system requirements with engineers of other disciplines that may be in-house or external.

• Attend meetings with senior staff to aid in the discussion and documentation of Client needs.

• Attend construction site meetings with senior staff.

• Support resilience, risk and security consulting projects in other Arup offices nationally and internationally upon direction of senior New York Resilience, Risk and Security Group staff.

Necessary:

•Working towards a Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Information Systems

Engineering

• Sound knowledge and/or interest in electronic security systems (ACAMS, CCTV, IDS, Operations Centers, etc.) design and resilience, risk and security policies and programs.

• Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and other like software.

• Good communication skills are essential for team-based working

• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment

• Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges

Preferred:

• 3. 3 GPA or higher, working towards a Master’s Degree in a related field.

• EIT/ FE Certification

• Internship experience in a consulting firm

• Proven ability to perform in a deadline situation

• Past history of technical presentations and technical writing, knowledge sharing with peers

• Evidence of teamwork and leadership such as professional accomplishment or honor society
